Awaken every sense within your body as you raft the spectacular Rangitata Gorge. Feel the adrenalin surging through your body as you conquer the exhilarating grade 5 rapids with your world class guide. Be in awe of the majestic mountains towering above you as you practise your safety instructions on the calmer sections. Feel your confidence growing as the rapids gradually build in excitement as you raft through the gorge. With only one scheduled trip per day take the time for swimming in the calmer turquoise water, have fun surfing the raft in the smaller rapids, take an optional leap of faith from a 'jump rock'. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere while chatting with your fellow rafters and enjoying one of two delicious meals at our beautifully located lodge. Join us as a day trip from Christchurch or drive yourself. Rangitata Rafts is the perfect stop between Christchurch and Queenstown.

Day includes

* Optional return transport from Christchurch departs 8.15am returns 6.30pm

* Self drive to our rafting lodge by 10.30am located 13km from Peel Forest.

* On arrival at our lodge an early lunch/brunch is served to keep

your energy levels buzzing

* All safety and comfort equipment is supplied

* With 2.5 hours on the river there is time for full safety training on the calm stretches of water before tyou enter the gorge where the rapids build in a natural progression

* Includes Grade 5 rapids (the most exciting commerically rafted)

* Option to walk around any rapids with the photographer if perferred

* Optional swimming, playing and leaping from a jump rock

* Hot refreshing showers await your return to our lodge

Location

Christchurch (Canterbury - South Island)

Rangitata Rafts lodge is located on a farm 13km from Peel Forest, 30 minutes off the main Christchurch - Queenstown highway. This is your base for the day. Start your day with us from Christchurch or drive yourself. Backpacker style accommodation is also available.

Numbers

The rafts carry a maximum of 7 people + rafting guide. A minimum of two rafts on each trip.

Session Time

Day trip from Christchurch departs 8.15am return 6.30pm. Self drive to our rafting lodge 13km from Peel Forest Village. The perfect stop when travelling between Christchurch and Queenstown. Arrive at 10.30am depart 4pm. Time on river 2.5 - 3 hours.

Guidelines & Restrictions

Minimum age 15 years. Reasonable standard of fitness is required as this river trip includes grade 5 rapids, the most challenging commerically rafted. Option to walk around if perferred. Pregnant women advised not to participant. No previous experience necessary

To the extent permitted by law, all our liability for damage to your property, disruption to travel plans, mental and physical injury is excluded. Rangitata Rafts can not be held responsible if clients do not follow our instructions.
